I kidnapped Marni and mini Sophie after their school day was over and took them to another Metroparks Reservation. There’s not many exciting things to do in suburban Ohio so we’ve usually got to drive a bit.
Lucky for us, we had the new Catfish and the Bottlemen album to jam to.
This was my first time at Squire’s Castle in about 8 years, and this was my very first time shooting in RAW mode instead of JPEG.
I’m not sure how I feel about RAW, it’s a lot more manual and we all know I suck at everything. It doesn’t feel sharp, it doesn’t feel like it has a focus point at all. I understand that it gives me more control while editing, but, sigh.
For this next one, I could definitely tell it was shot in RAW while I was editing. I had a lot more freedom, it didn’t drain any of the colors. I just feel that it looks a little naked, like the photo itself isn’t focused.
Marni has been on a really good amount of shoots with me, I barely have to say anything anymore. She just knows the angles I’m looking for.
I think this next one was when a family with a few kids came over and this 6-year-old shouted from the window, “You’re taking good photos.” Thanks, kid.
A shoot isn’t complete unless I get stalker shots of mini Sophie.
…Or egg selfies.
I don’t know how I feel about RAW vs. JPEG, I’ve gotta suck it up and learn it, though.
Also, I have no idea what was happening here.
