I played cello for a good decade of my life, I had the same tutor every single lesson. Her name was Tara. A good year or so after she moved away and my cello was put away, I got to finally see Tara and her band named Seafair again.
I love the Grog Shop – it’s a very small, intimate type venue. For photography though, it kind of makes me want to cry.
It doesn’t have the lighting that some of the bigger venues have, it obviously doesn’t have a photo pit (which is a struggle for small 5’4″ girls like me), it favors red lights (which DSLRs don’t pick up well without a white backlight).
I’m a little obsessed with their lead singer, Chayla. Besides the fact that she has some really cool tattoos plus her hella strong eyeliner game, she’s got a really unique, throat-y voice.
We ended up not posting these photos on Kryptonite, we might print them in some issue or maybe to a little take-back post in a good decade or so.
I’ve been seeing Seafair grow a lot over the last few years, and I’m quite excited for their future.
P.S. Their opener Ohio Weather Band has really nice teeth.
